A Clinical Study of Small Bowel Tumors

Abstract
The clinical records and histologic sections of 10 cases of primary small bowell malignancies were reviewed. The location clinical presentation, pathologic findings, treatment and outcome are compared to the collected published experience. Small bowell tumors are unusual lesions exhibiting clinical manifestations often diagnosed at an advanced stage. In 10 cases studied at department of the general surgery of Seoul National University Hospital were symptomatic such as intermittant abdominal pain, weight loss anemia and/or gastrointestinal disorder etc. Weight loss, palpable mass or anemia usually indicated malignancy. Small bowell radiography was the most useful diagnostic and in the present series. Six men and four women ranged from 24 to 64 years old (mean age; 48. 1 years old). The most common presentation: was abdominal pain (90%), followed by palpable¢¥ mass, (80%), nausea or vomiting (50%) and weight loss (40%) etc.
